  • Account details (login provider, preferences).
  • Order & enquiry data (event details, requests, quotes).
  • Device & usage (IP address, device type, browser, app logs).
  • Cookies & similar tech (see Cookies section).

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide and improve our services (matching users with African caterers, bakers, restaurants and vendors).
  • Respond to support requests and manage your enquiries.
  • Facilitate quotes and bookings between customers and vendors. Payments are not processed on the AfroEat platform.
  • Send service messages (e.g., enquiry updates). With your consent, send marketing.
  • Protect our platform against fraud and abuse.

We rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests (e.g., service improvement, fraud prevention), and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Customer Accounts

You may create an account or use social logins (e.g., Apple, Google, Facebook). You can also proceed as a guest. You may delete your account by contacting us. Deleting your account may affect your user experience.

6. Marketing

With your consent (where required), we send personalised updates about vendors, offers and news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in messages or via your account settings.

We use cookies and similar technologies for functional, analytical and marketing purposes. You can change preferences in our cookie banner or your browser. Disabling cookies may limit some features.

11. AfroEat for Business

If you use AfroEat for Business, we may process your work contact details, role, and allowance/transaction information as needed to provide the service and share necessary data with your organisation.

12. Sharing Your Data

  • Vendors: We share enquiry/order details to facilitate quotes and fulfilment.
  • Service providers: Hosting, analytics, customer support tools.
  • Legal & safety: When required by law or to protect rights and safety.

13. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, including legal, tax and accounting requirements. We then delete or anonymise it.

14. Your Rights

  • Access, rectification, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability (subject to law).
  • Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

We implement administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the risk. No method is 100% secure; please take care when sharing information online.
